Knot is a community-owned barter app. We collect only what we need to make trading work. We don't sell your data, run ads, or share your information with anyone except the services that keep the app running.
When you use Knot we collect:
Knot learns from what you like and pass on to surface items you're more likely to want. This is similar to how a social feed works — the more you use the app, the more relevant your browse experience becomes. We use your in-app behavior only. We do not purchase external data or profile you outside of Knot.
We use a small number of third-party services to run the app:
We do not sell your data to anyone. Ever. We do not share your data with advertisers. We never will.
Knot requests access to your location to show you items nearby and display approximate distance on listings. We do not log a history of your precise location. You can revoke location access at any time in your device settings — the app will still work, but distance-based features won't be available.
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Profile tab in the app. Deletion removes your account, listings, trade history, and messages from our systems within 30 days.

Knot is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it promptly.
If we make meaningful changes to this policy we'll notify you via the app or email before the changes take effect. The "last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
